Use a 5:1 sharp sand and cement mortar mix. It’s essential to apply a slurry primer to the back of each porcelain slab as you lay it to ensure proper adhesion. -
Laying on a solid concrete base:
You can install the tiles using exterior-grade tile adhesive and a notched trowel to achieve a secure bond.
How Thick Should a Slurry Primer Be?

But what’s the right consistency?
Think pancake batter – smooth, spreadable, and not too watery. If it’s too runny, it becomes messy and ineffective. If it’s too thick, it won't spread properly across the tile’s surface.
